Peonies Painting

I love painting, in fact my roommate and I made this colorful herringbone art for our living room because we couldn’t find anything with the colors we wanted. My favorite flower is a tie between peonies and hydrangea, and when I came across Evelyn Henson’s lovely paintings, I fell in love. She recently posted a DIY peonies painting (on the right), and I decided I was up for the challenge. Here are the supplies you’ll need to make your own peonies painting:

  • blank_canvas_peonies8 x 10 canvas
  • Assorted acrylic paints
    • Light pink
    • Peony pink
    • Coral blush
    • Citrus
    • Sea glass
    • Emerald
    • Hunter green
  • Angled paint brush
  • Paint Palette

I already had everything but the canvas, and all that is left to do if follow Evelyn’s step-by-step instructions. My version (on the left) turned out a bit brighter than I was expecting. I would recommend adding white to some of the colors for a softer look. I think my brighter version will look great on my work-in-progress gallery wall.
